# Contributing

> Overview of Aspect Build open-source Bazel projects, our maintenance philosophy, contribution model, and how we sustain rulesets used across the community.

Aspect was founded by Bazel experts who believe the ecosystem succeeds when tooling is open, composable, and well-maintained. We publish and maintain a large portfolio of open-source Bazel rulesets and tools, and we think carefully about how to sustain that work.

## Our projects

See [Open Source Projects](/bazel/open-source) under the Bazel section for a full listing of the rulesets, tools, and examples Aspect maintains, organized by language and category.

## Contributing

We welcome contributions across all of our open-source repositories. Most repositories include a `CONTRIBUTING.md` with project-specific guidelines. General notes:

* **Bug reports and feature requests**: open an issue on the relevant GitHub repo.
* **Pull requests**: include a description of the problem, the approach taken, and any test coverage. We review against the compatibility matrix and supported Bazel versions documented in each repo.
* **Questions**: the [Aspect community Slack](http://slack.aspect.build/) is the best place for open-ended discussion.

## Prioritization

Aspect uses a tiered framework to prioritize open-source work, from active engagement customers down to community contributions, with exceptions for ecosystem-critical changes. See [Open Source Development Prioritization](/open-source/prioritization) for the full framework.

## Support

Need more than community support? Aspect offers [commercial Bazel support](/services) via a dedicated Slack channel with guaranteed response times.
